Cape Haven | A wish(list) come true
Our clients had thoughtfully considered what they wanted in their new Cape Elizabeth home; space for woodworking and crafts, the option for aging in place, ample views of the adjoining woods, an elevator, and sensitive relationship to the property's striking natural ledge were just some their must-haves. The lot was not generous, but with careful planning we were able to fulfill our client's wishes while maintaining a light-filled sense of space and serenity.
Craftsman design cues inside and out (including custom millwork on much of the trim) combine with clean, open interior spaces to give the home a just-right, timeless presence. A complete package of energy-saving and carbon-reducing strategies make it exceptionally efficient—from thermally-decoupled wall construction and triple-pane windows to an innovative foundation that dramatically reduces the use of carbon-embodied concrete.
