Evergreen House  |  Fine Homebuilding's 2020 "Best New Home of the Year"

This building and accompanying studio was designed by Kaplan Thompson Architects. The striking, light-filled house utilizes a trove of techniques that improve energy efficiency, reduce maintenance, and increase lifespan—including triple-glazed windows, heat pumps, and a solar array—and exceeds Passivhaus standards for air-tightness.

We are honored to share Fine Homebuilding's "Best New Home of the Year" award with Kaplan Thompson. The annual award recognizes just one new home built in the United States. Fine Homebuilding cited Evergreen House as "remarkable for its unconventional yet site-appropriate architecture," with "a superior level of craftmanship and detail."
